It’s been a couple of years since I knitted a Beyond Puerperium, so thought it was about time I did another one. This is my fourteenth(!) and is 3 -6 month size for someone at my knitting group who’s about to have a baby.

She is expecting a girl, but I wasn’t sure what colours she prefers so had a dive in my stash and chose some Stylecraft Classique Cotton in bright colours, as it’s machine washable and DK. It used 180 metres up in total, which means my stash totals for this year, so far are: 3132.9 metres used, and 3818 metres acquired. I chose the buttons (or rather LO chose the buttons!) at John Lewis in Kingston.
I’m now thinking about knitting another one using the same yarn colourways, as I have a work colleague who is expecting a baby girl in 2020 and I think she’d like something similar. I may aim for the 6-12 month size this time as it would get more wear that way, as the 3 -6 month size would be over the summer.
[…] work colleague is expecting a baby, so, of course, I seized the opportunity to knit another Beyond Puerperium! This is the 0-3 month size, so hopefully the baby will get some use out of it before the weather […]

I knitted a Beyond Puerperium in navy and white stripes, ended up with a headache from the strobe effect. Not likely to knit this pattern again as concentrating on socks for DH as some of the earlier ones are showing signs of wear, I need to replenish his sock drawer, also need to finish DiL’s Attic24 Moorland blanket and the border of our Sweet Pea blanket.
